EXPECTATIONS

No two accidents are exactly the same, making each repair unique. At Roth & Miller CARSTAR, autobody repair is an art form - not an assembly line process - performed by craftspeople. It requires many decisions based on your expectations and your vehicle's unique damage. If you are having an insurance company pay for the work, and that insurance company is your own, the terms of your policy also come into play.

At Roth & Miller CARSTAR, we want to exceed your expectations. So right from the start we want to have a good understanding of your needs and concerns, and we want to provide you with a good understanding of the processes involved, including the skilled craftsmanship necessary to perform the repairs and working with insurers.

Working With Insurers

Who chooses where my vehicle will be repaired?
You do! When you choose Roth & Miller we will work on your behalf with the responsible insurance company, whether that’s your insurer or the other party's. It is not necessary for us to be "on their list or program" in order for us to help you. We work with all insurance companies.

Oregon law protects your right to choose who you have repair your vehicle! Before recommending a shop, the insurer is required by law to tell you that you have this choice. It's your responsibility to choose a shop that you can trust. That shop may or may not be the shop recommended by the insurance company.

How do I choose a shop?
We recommend that you make a personal visit to the shop you're considering, and ask people you know and trust for a shop recommendation. Make sure the shop you are considering has comparable certifications to Roth & Miller CARSTAR. The shop you trust and choose may or may not be one recommended by the insurance company.

Who provides the warranty for the repair?
We do! Some insurers may tell you that they warranty the repairs if made at certain shops, but in actuality it is always the shop that warranties the repairs.

We provide a limited lifetime warranty and a 5-year nationwide warranty on all qualified repairs. We have been standing behind our work everyday since 1946.

Will new "OEM" parts be put back on my vehicle?
Our first choice of parts is new original equipment manufacturer (OEM) parts; those are parts made by your vehicle manufacturer.

However, your insurance policy may not pay for OEM parts if aftermarket parts (parts NOT made by your car manufacturer) or salvage parts (used parts) are available. Aftermarket and salvage parts are sometimes referred to as LKQ (like kind and quality) parts.

We cannot force your insurer to pay for something other than what is written in the policy you purchased. You always have the option to pay the difference between what your policy covers and what your preference is. Ask us what the cost difference is if you would prefer new OEM parts.

Does Roth & Miller CARSTAR have DRP (direct repair program) agreements with insurers?
We have hand-picked a few insurance direct repair programs in which we participate. These programs focus on making the process more convenient for you rather than pushing for the "cheapest repair." We do not compromise repair procedures in order to participate in an insurer's program.
